Welcome back teachers!

I hope everyone had a great summer! I know That I spent a lot of time 'unplugged' and doing the things that my family and I will not be able to do once the business of the school year begins! School begins on Sept. 2, with many of us in PD or learning communities. Some of you might be asked to share out from the June training. I hope it is still somewhat in your memory :). I know that this year, I tend to stress to my administrators how important it is for the building blocks of WWS, that all grade levels do Thor parts as the years do support and build on one another. I will begin the year with the personal narrative unit on day 3. I will assign the "decorate your journal" homework. I read a great idea this summer saying that if you use the spiral bound notebooks, you can cover the wire with decorative duck tape and they will last longer! What a great idea!! Fun and we all know the wire bound are cheaper than the comp notebooks. Well, I am here if you have any questions on the units or run into any snags. Remember, my first year teaching the units was slow, choppy, and unit one took me forever!! "Do not think of today's failures, but of the success that may come tomorrow." -Helen Keller.
